5 Quick & Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Hello Everyone, I hope you're all doing well!! You've probably noticed that I haven't been posting as consistently as usual lately but I will be getting back into my posting atleast twice in a week from now on.

So I totally understand the feeling of not wanting to eat breakfast in the mornings but the reasons vary from person to person so it could it be due to being pushed for time, trying to loose weight, not being bothered to eat, too tired and lazy to prepare food in the mornings or simply not feeling to eat so early.
Personally, I tend to not eat breakfast because I'm usually running late anyways and I feel like it's too time consuming to prepare food, sit on the dinning table and eat and then have to wash up in school uniform. However, when I do have something in the morning, it's usually like sweets, chocolate, cookies and pretty much the things you're supposed to stay away from before 9am. I am however improving on my time keeping so I'm starting to learn how to manage my time so I'm not running late where breakfast would be the last thing on my mind.

This is why I thought I would share with you guys 5 healthy breakfast ideas that you could incorporate into your mornings to give you a good boost and kick start energy for the day ahead!

1. Quaker Oat/ Porridge Oats
I actually don't mind quaker oats as long as it has sugar in it. It is really filling and is great to last you till the next meal of the day. It usually takes around 4mins to prepare so it's not too long. People also like to put fruit on top such as strawberry, banana, raspberry and apple slices. You could also try raisins if you like.

2. Healthy Cereals
Yes I know it can be hard to opt for healthier cereals when there's things like Coco Pops, Frosties and Rice Krispies but if you are looking for a healthier lifestyle, cereals like Kellog's Fruit n Fibre would be great. Other healthier options are Bran Flakes,Weetabix, Kellog's Nutri-Grain and Muesli. All these would be perfect with just a glass of water or juice in the morning and don't take long to make at all.

3. Whole Grain Toast
Toast is probably one of the most popular breakfasts but to turn the odd toast healthy, use whole grain or brown bread instead. You can try buttering it lightly then putting some banana slices on top or have it with those ham, chicken or turkey slices into it and turn it into a sandwich. However you would like to be creative with your toast, try it out with some slices of whole grain bread.

4. Fruit Salad
This is probably one of the quickest breakfasts if you prepare a big portion of fruit salad the night before then every morning you can put some in a bowl and enjoy away. It is also good to help you get your 5-aday and most fruits taste really good anyway. You can also make yourself a fruit smoothie that you can store in the fridge and pour into a bottle every morning/night if you really don't have time to waste where you can drink it on the go. I actually have a post on a tropical fruit smoothie which I've made.

5.Boiled Egg
Finally, you can decide to start your day with boiled eggs. You can cut it and put it in bread or toast or you can even eat it along with some sweet and crunchy salad. These are just a few ideas but in the end it's up to you! To make things easier, you can boil the eggs the night before then peel and eat the next morning!

So that's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this post and you might have got some inspiration of some quick and easy healthy breakfast ideas. Be sure to leave me a comment of what you think and let me know what you have for breakfast if anything.

Healthier Lifestyle // Tropical Fruit Smoothie

Hi guys! So you may not have known but one of my New Years Resolutions was to begin a healthier liifestyle including healthier eating and exercise. I made a blog post on it in the beginning of February saying how I was gonna have a fresh start and so on which you can read up right here. Up until last week Saturday, I had made no attempt into even trying to swop the chocolate for a banana but congratulations to me, I made a fruit smoothie!!

Yes, I know it's not a big deal but I am so happy that I have started putting some work into my New Years Resolution. I promised myself to make sure to drink it everyday without fail so that I can get my 5aday to start of with.

So last week Thursday, I went off to my local grocery store (Tesco) and picked up some fruit and veg.

At Tesco,I bought a pineapple for £1 which I was so pleased with because it was ridiculously juicy and sweet. I also picked up this Ready to Eat Pineapple, Melon, Strawberry and Grapes cup for £1.79 which was a great idea meaning that I didn't need to buy all those fruits individually. I also bought a pack of plums for 79p and there was about 8 inside. They were really ripe and tasted pretty good. Finally, I got some sweet and crunch salad for £1. I just wanted to be a little spontaneous with the salad lol.

How I made it:
Since my mum had already cut up the pineapple before I got home from school, I simply cut the big chunks in half and put them in the blender. I then poured the Ready to Eat Cup staright inside aswell. Then I cut around the plums (4-5 of them) and binned the seeds and put it in the blender. Finally I added a little bit of the salad inside and poured a cup of water in (around 500ml).
I blended for about 15-20 secs.
And done! A delicious, sweet, healthy tropical fruit smoothie!!
I'm actually really proud of myself for taking this first step into my healthier lifestyle and I have actually been drinking it everyday and I am looking to make another one once this batch is finished. I am going to try a different mixture of fruits, I am thinking something more like mango, banana and strawberry for a thicker, creamier textured smoothie!!

That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please comment below what you think and if you have any good fruit combination smoothies in mind or tips on keeping a healthier lifestyle!

Health & Fitness - My New Goal !!

Hello everyone, I'm soo sorry that I haven't been posting very regularly recently but I think I've just become very lazy and pretty much incapable of writing up something really simple for you guys. One of my targets with this blog is actually to come up with a scheduled day of the week to draft and to post, but one that I will ACTUALLY stick to for once!! Anyways let's continue on to this post itself before I get carried away>>

So keeping fit is actually something that has been on my mind for ages now and I've sort of always said to myself that I will start doing workouts, exercises, and most of all eating healthily. As you can probably guess all those were just plain words that came out my mouth with no real follow up action. Now don't get me wrong, I am not over-weight or anything so I don't want to go on a diet or loose weight etc (trust me I'm like the size of a toothpick) but I simply want to become fit, sporty like I was in primary school and just overall healthier!! Seriously, I eat like so much junk food in one day ie; a whole packet of oreos, cookies, chocolate, sweets, fizzy drinks and just everything that your supposed to stay away from!!If I'm lucky, I might remember to have like one fruit but like that's not gonna out weigh all the other crap I've been munching. You wait till all my teeth start dropping out! But real talk, it's literally like an addiction, thank God I have high metabolism though!!

Also today, I was so shocked and disappointed at myself as I actually came to awareness of what I was like during sports. Apart from the fact that I'll decide to do a 15mins workout everyday of the week, manage do it twice then give up and forget about it and realise like 6months later 'Oh I haven't been doing my workouts' which is completely useless. But like today in PE (gym class) we played basketball and I realised that I was always standing back and away from the ball and wasn't actually doing anything. That in itself wasn't actually the problem because of course, I got away with it! But the fact that I never used to be like that! Before, I would go up to the ball, tackle people (I mean like boys), score goals an actually get active. Now I've just put myself into the 'I'm a girl so I cant be sporty' category and that's not who I really am at all. Now is my chance to breakfree from 'I cant be bothered land' and get myself together real quick!
Some of the ideas I have come up with as a starter pack are:
- to resume after school club sports (say no to laziness!)
- to always eat breakfast(a healthy one, rather than chocolate before 9am)
- to drink healthy fruit smoothies everyday afterschool (which I will be post a DIY on as soon as I start!)
- drinking a lot more water atleast 2ltrs (during breakfast, school day, lunch dinner etc)
- finding a good youtuber to do home workouts with (please comment own below if you know any good role models to follow lol)
- and finally going 2 weeks each month without buying any junk snacks before/after school (this will be the most difficult so I'll be doing this with a few friends)

Thank you so much for reading guys!! I'm really looking forward to starting my new healthy lifestyle and I hope I actually stay encouraged and it becomes a normal thing for me to just live healthy! Feel free to join me on this life transforming journey, and I'll be glad to receive any tips or opinions on this, so please comment down below!! Thanks again.
