What's In My DIY Emergency Kit Bag?? ♡

Hii Everyone! So I've finally got around to this post after like 3months that I've wanted to do it! Today I'll be hopefully helping you girls out (this post is mainly targeted at girls but guys can read it too!) by sharing with you something which I find very helpful and that comes in really handy which are DIY Emergency Kit Bags! You may or may have not heard of these before but in this post I'll be explaining what they are; why I like them and what I've put in mine to give you an idea of what you could put in yours (that's if you're interested in making one after reading this post)!>>

So first of all, DIY Emergency Kit Bags are basically mini bags that you can carry all of your toiletries and the essential items you need with you were ever you go. You can fit them in your school bag or the hand bag you are taking out with you. These kit bags come in so handy as it saves you from the frustration of having to look round for things in big bags since they are all in the same place; forgetting to take something important along when switching bags; and simply being prepared for any disasters or emergency that may come your way! So anyways, let's just get right into it!

First of all, you'll need a small-medium toiletries bag or travel sized pouch (big enough to fit everything you may wanna put in, but small enough to fit it your bag and not take up all the space)! These can cost anywhere from £1-£5. (A picture of my one is at the top of this post).

Things to put in ~

  1. Hand & Body Moisturizers: Mini hand and body moisturizers can be life savers when your in a sticky situation. Having white patchy flakes between your fingers and on your legs or arms are not a good look atall! Especially in the summer time when you're most likely not covering up as much with tights, gloves and jumpers, it's always smart to keep some cream with you!
  2. Pads/Tampons: You should never go out without any pads or tampons at hand because you never no when the time of the month could hit you so it's always best to be safe! Even if you haven't started your period yet, you should still carry some with you incase, because that day could be your day and you don't want to suffer an embarrassing moment during an emergency. I always like to keep 2/3 in my kit bag to be safe. Also incase you need to help a friend out!
  3. Lip Balm: This is also an essential item that to keep in your kit bag so that you can touch up during the day when your lips need moisturizing rather than constantly licking your lips and making them worse.
  4. Pocket Sized Tissues: These are very useful for when ever you need to just clean up quickly, especially if no one around has any. You can actually get like 10 of these in a pack for about £1.50 at Boots, Superdrug and most chemists.
  5. Wet Wipes/ Makeup Remover Wipes: Whenever you need to fresh up or wipe of any smudged makeup like eyeliner or mascara, these are great to have around!
  6. Hand Sanitizers: If you've just got your hands dirty or you're about to eat, use hand sanitizers to kill off all the bacteria and remove and clean your hands. Also, I've found that squeezing a bit of this under your nails really cleans all the dirt out and make you nails look fresh and healthy!
  7. Body Spray/Perfume: It's really important for us ladies especially to make sure we are smelling fresh and sweet! I don't know if you can relate but people with really bad B.O is a huge turn off and making sure you smell decent is simply basic hygiene! Also, if you go to school or the gym, it's important to touch up with a quick spray after P.E or gym class.
  8. Mini Mirror: I actually find having a mirror with me quite handy. If you just need to check something on your face, in your eye, up your nose (lol) or wherever, a mirror is just a few seconds away!
  9. Hair Bands/Clips/Bobby Pins: Incase you snap a hairband by accident, loose a booby pin or feel like changing up your hairstyle, you'll have the items you need with you!
  10. Gum/Mints: I cannot stress enough how important a fresh, clean breath is so you must, must make sure you keep some kind of breath/mouth freshener with you! They are also really useful just after lunch and pretty much during the day.
  11. Cotton Buds/Toothpicks: I would say that these are not as important as some of the others but are just little things you might just wanna put in incase.
  12. Spare Earrings/ Studs: You never know, you might lose your earrings or the stud or even forget to wear one so a spare is always good to have.
  13. Spare Change: You might have left your money at home or you really need some extra quick cash so having no more than £5 in your emergency kit bag could be helpful.
So that's all the things that I keep in my DIY Emergency Kit Bag along with some other things you may want to add it! If you want to make this yourself, you can definitely add in other things or remove some things to your preference but this is just a brief list of ideas. You can also put like a few makeup items in there or have that in a separate bag. Other items are mini hairbrushes, medicine, pantyliners etc.

Quick Tips ~

  • Only put stuff you need to find quickly, or almost can't live without so it's not too heavy.
  • Find little containers for things like the pads/tampons, earrings, hairbands etc, so it's quicker to get to.
  • Buy items that are mini or travel sized so you can save space and add more things inside.
And that's all for today! I really enjoyed writing this post and I hope you guys enjoyed reading it! Be sure to comment down below to let me know what you think (I love talking to you guys!) and let me know if you might be interested in making your own Emergency Kit Bag. If you guys wanna know what brands or names of items that I use (for example perfume, lip balms or hand creams) simply ask me in the comments down below!

Thanks so much for reading,
Lysm,

Healthier Lifestyle // Tropical Fruit Smoothie

Hi guys! So you may not have known but one of my New Years Resolutions was to begin a healthier liifestyle including healthier eating and exercise. I made a blog post on it in the beginning of February saying how I was gonna have a fresh start and so on which you can read up right here. Up until last week Saturday, I had made no attempt into even trying to swop the chocolate for a banana but congratulations to me, I made a fruit smoothie!!

Yes, I know it's not a big deal but I am so happy that I have started putting some work into my New Years Resolution. I promised myself to make sure to drink it everyday without fail so that I can get my 5aday to start of with.

So last week Thursday, I went off to my local grocery store (Tesco) and picked up some fruit and veg.

At Tesco,I bought a pineapple for £1 which I was so pleased with because it was ridiculously juicy and sweet. I also picked up this Ready to Eat Pineapple, Melon, Strawberry and Grapes cup for £1.79 which was a great idea meaning that I didn't need to buy all those fruits individually. I also bought a pack of plums for 79p and there was about 8 inside. They were really ripe and tasted pretty good. Finally, I got some sweet and crunch salad for £1. I just wanted to be a little spontaneous with the salad lol.

How I made it:
Since my mum had already cut up the pineapple before I got home from school, I simply cut the big chunks in half and put them in the blender. I then poured the Ready to Eat Cup staright inside aswell. Then I cut around the plums (4-5 of them) and binned the seeds and put it in the blender. Finally I added a little bit of the salad inside and poured a cup of water in (around 500ml).
I blended for about 15-20 secs.
And done! A delicious, sweet, healthy tropical fruit smoothie!!
I'm actually really proud of myself for taking this first step into my healthier lifestyle and I have actually been drinking it everyday and I am looking to make another one once this batch is finished. I am going to try a different mixture of fruits, I am thinking something more like mango, banana and strawberry for a thicker, creamier textured smoothie!!

That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Please comment below what you think and if you have any good fruit combination smoothies in mind or tips on keeping a healthier lifestyle!

Be sure to check out and drop some comments on some of my other posts!

5 Ways To Make Money As A Teenager!!

Hello Everyone!! So if you’re a teenager like myself, you can probably relate to the feeling of wanting to make your own money even though you aren’t yet allowed to have a proper job. It can be really frustrating when you really want that super cute dress or those new nike trainers but you just don’t have the money for it. You could easily ask your parents but there’s always that 50% chance that they might say no especially if it’s not something you don't necessarily need or they think it’s not worth it. Why have to worry about that when you could just gather up some of your savings money and get whatever it is you want?! That’s why I decided to come to you guys today with 5 different ways you could easily make some quick cash for yourself as a teenager like myself!>>

1) Selling online
Nowadays, you can simply make money inside the comfort of your own home! With so many websites such as Ebay, Amazon, Etsy,  Threadflip, ExchangeMyPhone and many more, you have a wide range of products to sell and make a good amount of money. Some ideas are clothes, jewelry, phone cases, game consoles, shoes, DIY and crafts and so much more. The only thing is that you must have a bank card and let your parents be aware of what you are doing.

2) Doing Chores
Doing a few extra chores at home can make you a few extra pounds for pocket money. You've simply got to negotiate and make a contract with your parents including what jobs you'll do, how long for, how often and how much you'll get in return. You could get paid for raking leaves, mowing the garden, washing cars, cleaning the whole house or a section of it for an acceptable price. I know that this way is a lot more hard work but in the long run, it's definitely worth it!

3) Getting Good Test Results!
I actually do this with my mum all the time. So if I've got an upcoming test, I let her know about it and we set a minimum grade boundary. It's usually an A so if I hit it or get higher, she will give me £10. If you don't want actual money, you could agree that they get you something else you want instead. This is also a very good motivation to wanting to achieve better results at school because you know there will be a exiting reward waiting for you if you do well! This way is actually quite easy and if you're a teenager, you're probably still going to school or having some type of education so it's perfect and straight forward!

4) Online Surveys
Isn't it amazing that you could actually make some good money with nothing else but your opinion! I mean seriously, you can make like £2 per survey with questions like 'Have you ever heard of River Island?' and 'Which do you prefer, jeans or dresses?' It's ridiculous right! Anyways, there are tons of sites out there ready for you to sign up to and start to earn cash, vouchers, prizes and so much more! Some of them even offer free games for you to play for like a few minutes and it'll earn you points! Check out SwagBucks, Toluna, Vivatic, MySurvey, YouGov and many other options you have and see which one you prefer!!

5) Turn a hobby/Talent Into A Business
My final suggestion is a little bit more creative although you barely see anyone doing it in this current teenage generation. It was a lot more common during the teen lives of our parents and upwards but now, not so much. If there is something you adore doing, or something you're really good at, or something you really love, believe it or not you can still make money out of it regardless. Whether you're a pet lover (pet sit or dog walk), a baby lover (babysit), a intelligent boy/girl (tutor someone), a more active kind (car washing, bike washing, lawn mowing), a great singer or dancer (form a little group with friends or someone and have lessons and stuff). The list just goes on and on and there are so many options to choose from, just find something you really enjoy or love and make you a few quid with it.

So that's all the ways I thought of in which teenagers like myself (boy or girl) could earn themselves a little extra pocket for those times when you wished you had been saving up, or a real emergency comes up and you're in a sticky situation. I hope you enjoyed and found it useful! Be sure to comment down below if you would like to see similar posts to this!

On an important note, one of my close friends Ella the blog owner of IDKELLA and youtuber of IdkElla has a very similar youtube video on this same kinda topic and I would love if you guys took a moment to go an check it out! While you're at it, please subscribe to her channel and like her videos! You never know, her channel could have things you can relate to or enjoy!! Here's the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfNkGlrLSAg

Thank you so much guys,

My DIY Feet Mini Makeover For Winter !!

Welcome back to my blog everyone and today I will be sharing with you a cute little method of mine I like to use to revive and refresh my feet preparing them for the upcoming spring/summer! As we all know, winter means cold, harsh, unappealing weather which further means socks, boots, and cover up shoes for 6 months straight. Now just because or feet are not bare, with some fashionable sandals or flipflops enjoying the beautiful warmth and breeze of the beach and summer, doesn’t mean they should be neglected and suffering under all the extra layers of socks and boots! I say it’s best to give them some TLC so they’ll be ready to face the upcoming summer looking gorgeous! Read on to see how I give my nails Mini Makeover!>>

Step 1)  Soak up
There's nothing better than starting by pampering your feet in some warm soapy water. You've probably been walking around a lot and your feet must be worn out and blistered so relaxing them in a little bowl of water and adding some coconut or oilve oil will really nourish  them due to their antibacterial and antifungal properties. Some sweet smelling oil such as rosemary or lavender oil will soften up and ease the tightness from your feet while making this an aromatherapy session for a good 10-15mins.

Step 1) Wash/Scrub
Now it's time to give your feet a good cleaning and wash away all the dirt and grime. Most of the time, we don't really pay too much attention to or feet during the everyday shower, bath or whatever type of wash we have. This is why I like to incorporate this step into my regimen to focus on my feet (especially between my toes and under my nails) and clean them up very well. (You can use the same soapy water if you like) Washing your feet also makes them a lot healthier and fresher.

Step 3) Exfoliate
This step is totally optional but it's just extra to remove any build up and smooth up your skin. You can either buy your own foot exfoliator, or DIY with honey, sugar or/and salt. Simply massage the mixture into your feet and let it sit for as long as you would like. I usually do about 3mins if I add in this step. If you have rough heels, you could try scrubbing down with a pumice stone (while it's wet). After this, rinse your feet with warm water and dab them dry with a towel.

Step 4) Trim & Shape
At this point, your nails should feel really soft and even slightly weaker than usual. Don't worry as they dry, they will go back to normal. What I do now is to cut them to a reasonable height and buff them with a nail file. Make sure to be careful while doing this. After cutting and shaping, I like to apply a little oil either coconut or almond to my actual nails and cuticles.

Step 5) Moisturize
Your almost done now, so all you need to do simply apply your favourite moisturizer, lotion or cream. Our skin tends to get super dry and crackly during these winter months so moisturizing is key!

Step 5) Get cosy!
Who can ever refused sticking their feet in some warm, fury, fuzzy socks during the winter, in their pj's, with some hot chocolate, in bed and on their laptop or whatever! That's personally what I love to do but it's all in your hands now. I just think it's an amazing way to round up a good feet makeover, and care session!

That's the end of my DIY Feet Mini Makeover For Winter and I hope you enjoyed reading! I would definitely recommend you guys trying out my regimen and doing it lets say once or twice a month. It takes about 30mins but I think out poor feet deserve some love and care this winter (especially if you live in London)! If you have seen my DIY Makeover for fingernails, you will probably notice that it's quite similar, if you haven't read it, go ahead and check it out here. Go ahead and tell me what you think about my routine and if you do try this out, feel free to share with me your results, I'd love to hear them!!
Thanks for reading guys, until next time..

DIY Newspaper Print Nail Art

Hey guys!! So I’m sure you all sometimes get a lil bored of your nails or the polish or designs you’ve currently got on is getting old and wear away. That’s why I thought that I would share you guys a super quick and easy yet gorgeous looking way of rocking your nails. Unfortunately, I’m not actually allowed to paint my nails (yep, I know I’m 14yrs) so I’m just here telling you guys about a cool way to jazz up your nails, and I can’t even do it myself.. it’s a sad life. Lol but anyways let’s get started!>>

Step 1) Apply a base coat to your nails of any colour of choice. Some popular ones are light grey, grey, light blue and light pink. Make sure to let it dry before continuing to next step.

Step 2) Soak your nails into some alcohol, or rubbing alcohol for a few seconds.

Step 3) Place the newspaper print side down on the nail an gently press down, making sure not to shift the paper.

Step 4) After about 30secs or so, peel off the newspaper and finish with a top coat to get a fine finish and tah dah! Results = fabulous nails!!

Tips&Tricks
-Apart from alcohol/vodka, and rubbing alcohol, some people use mouthwash or simply water. I've never tried it out so I'm not too sure but people seem to lean more to the alcohol or rubbing alcohol side for better results.
- To avoid blurred letters, try your best to stay super still. Simply roll your fingers over the  newspaper on your nails.
- Keep a cotton bud, cotton wool and nail polish remover nearby so yo can quickly wipe away any mistakes and clean up!

So that's all from me today guys, I hope you enjoyed and actually give this a go. Feel free to share your results and any tips down in the comments! Thanks for reading,
Abbie x
